"Wine bars are demystifying the wine experience and making it casual and fun, ending the myth that only oenophiles can truly enjoy and appreciate wine. 'My goal is to offer customers a fun, new experience,' says Michael Burke, co-owner of úna Wine Bar and Lounge in Portland, Maine, 'Wine doesn't have to be serious'. In December 1997, co-owners Michael Burke and Justin O'Reilly opened úna Wine Bar and Lounge in Portland, Maine to give locals and vacationers a chic, yet accessible place to go out... 'We delight in the opportunity to turn people on to something new,' says Burke. As a result, cocktail drinkers got turned on to wine and úna became a successful business."
